1. .38 Special and .357 Magnum use the same diameter bullets.
2. .30 Super Carry and .32 Magnum also share a bullet diameter.
3. .38-55 Winchester and .375 Winchester are basically interchangeable.
4. .30-06 can also be called .30 Govt.
5. .45-70 used to use 70 grains of black powder. But the .30-06 was developed in 1906
6. 9mm Parabellum uses .355 dia. bullets but 9mm Makarov uses .364 diameter.
7. .45 Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP) is not the same as .45 Colt.
8. .303 British bullets are actually .312 diameter.
9. The only real difference between .307 Winchester and .308 Winchester is the Rim diameter. The cartridges use identical bullets and powders.
10. The point of this is to serve as a reminder than firearm markings and ammunition caliber rim stamps must match exactly. Close enough does not work. Be safe and enjoy.
