Daily habits I want to nurture
I received an ominous note from NotePD this morning. Something about missing a day and my streak being in danger of ending. I don't think I missed a day, but to be safe I'll go ahead and do a double header today :)

1. Early to rise
I want to wake up every morning no later than 6:30. Preferably 5:00. It's difficult for me right now since I tend to sleep late, but it's something I should really change. Things are so quiet and nice early in the morning.
2. Meditation
At least 10 minutes every morning before I start work. Doesn't seem like too much to ask for.
3. Exercise
Ideally, I do some morning exercises at home, and go to the gym in the evening.
4. Journaling
I've been doing this off and on throughout the years. I suppose daily NotePD can count as journaling.
5. Motivation
I should do something motivational every morning before work. Maybe read some motivational quotes, or doing some affirmations. Something. This habit has never really stuck for me.
6. Low carb diet
I like Tim Ferriss' Slow Carb Diet. Diets are easy for me to follow... until I add kids to the equation. Kids are carb-eating machines, and I'm usually stuck eating pasta, bread, and pizza with them.
7. Inbox Zero
I'm generally at "inbox zero," but tend to let it slip on weekends when I don't have so much time at my computer.
8. Getting out and interacting with strangers each day
I work full time from home. Sometimes it's tough to just go out and interact with other people.
9. Pomodoro Technique
I use the Pomodoro Technique when I have shit-tons of work to do, but tend to get stop using it when things get slower.
10. Personal projects
I don't want my life to be defined by what I do at my day job (processing applications and talking with lawyers, basically). I want my life's work to be defined by my passion projects. But for that to happen, I have to actually devote time to them every day. A little bit each day, consistently, for 50 years equals a massive body of work.
