"Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." (John 7:24) (1 min)

Preview

    1. The world of appearances is based on the illusion of separation from God.

Our physical senses and worldly perceptions are not reliable guides to truth.
What does it mean to judge with "righteous judgment?"
It is perceiving with the vision of the Holy Spirit. This means looking beyond appearances to the eternal truth of God's love and the holiness in all beings.
We must distinguish between "judgment" (which is of the ego) and "discernment" (which is of the Holy Spirit). Ego-based judgment condemns and separates, discernment recognizes the shared purpose in all of God's creation.
As we learn to align our perception with the Holy Spirit's guidance, we see past the illusions of the world to the light of God's love in everyone and everything. This is the "righteous judgment" that sees the truth beyond appearances.
