Exploring Why We Resist the Now. (56 sec)

Preview

    1. We're attached to the past.

Even though these familiar patterns are the source of our suffering. We somehow have convinced ourselves to believe that a nonexistent past is safer and more comfortable.

    2. We fear the unknown.

We've made the unknown our boogeyman. We resist accepting "what is" because it requires us to step into the uncertainty of the present moment. Fear of change and fear of the unknown are the reasons why we turn our backs to reality.

    3. Our egos' resistance.

We resist acceptance of "what is" because we thrive on conflict, judgment, and separation. The ego wants to maintain a sense of control and superiority. The very last thing egos want to do is to accept the present moment as it is, free from judgment and grievances.
