Fundraising Brainstorm
I was selected to be one of 6 employees to go on a non-profit trip to a rural, impoverished area of Guatemala and build a school & playground for the community. The non-profit we work with is secular, works directly with the communities and governments, and provides additional training & support to the people in the community so that they can continue teaching for years to come. I plan to collect some books in Spanish to bring with me and give to the school library as my own way of doing something extra. I'm so honored and excited to be selected, but will also need to raise some of the funds to go - which requires some brainstorming of ideas.
1. Direct email campaign
Email friends & family asking them to donate
2. Post it to social media
I started with this on my own pages, has had some donors with this method.
3. Bake sale in the office
Bake some goods, have some kind colleagues bake other goods, sell the goods
4. "Yard" Sale
Have work colleagues donate items they no longer want/in sellable condition and host a yard sale in the office.
5. Pupper Kissing Booth
Get permission from the building to allow dogs in for one day and charge admission to a conference room full of dogs to cuddle and play with.
6. Pie me..or others in the face
Sure, I'll do it.
7. Bad poems or drawings for your donation
Courtesy of me
8. Superbowl Squares
This was very popular last year
9. Hot Wings Challenge
The C-Suite offered to partake in this last year and are on board to do it again, so sounds good to me.
10. Host a Cheap Wine & Cheese Tasting
It'll be completely silly, but 100% fun.
11. What else?
Any other suggestions, my friends?
