How to Live an Extraordinary Life
I have not mastered everything on this list. So you may say I am not living an extraordinary life. That's alright. I know I am on a journey. As are all of us.
1. Shift your perspective to observe the mundane as magical.
Daily tediousness can dull our senses, lulling us into believing our everyday lives are ordinary. But right now, at this moment, we can choose to view that seemingly unnecessary meeting as an opportunity and that wait in line as a gift from God.
2. Find someone in your life you deeply, passionately care about.
This does not have to be a romantic partner. And the person can change over time. But there has to be someone.
3. Be tenaciously positive in every situation.
This means having the self-assurance that you can handle any situation.
4. Completely release any care, concern, or worry over what anyone thinks about you.
This is the most difficult thing on this list, yet critically important. If you allow other people's judgments to affect who you are, what you do, and how you do it, you will never be free to be the extraordinary you that you are.
5. Take a creative journey.
Self-expression is a requirement for an extraordinary life. Discover a creative avenue and explore it with your whole heart.
6. Have a mission.
A mission provides direction and purpose to life. It gives you a reason to rise in the morning. It makes your heart skip. It fills you with energy.
7. Make everything an adventure.
Turn your grocery shopping, work commute, and errand trips into mini adventures. Imagine the thrill of leaving the security of your home to explore the world and its many infinite possibilities. This perspective can be applied to anything.
8. Stop impressing and start being impressive.
Invest less energy in currying favor and more into doing something extraordinary.
9. Think BIG.
In society, there is a tendency to pull all ideas back to the middle. If you think of a big idea, people want to temper it by making the idea "more realistic." The people who do this to us the most are ourselves. Resist this tendency and explore the outer reaches of what is possible.
10. Have boundless energy.
With enough vigor, anything is possible.
