How to prevent future school shootings

In my mind the more /less guns debate is a focus on the wrong thing. If it gets to the point someone wants to kill as many kids as possible, it's already too late. My list will try to reduce the likely hood of ever reaching that stage. Solve that and more/less guns becomes irrelevant.

Non American, so sorry in advance for any ignorance that may occur in my list.

1. Psychology classes

Teaching kids how to deal with their own mental problems will help prevent growth of evil ideas.

This may have a downside, in that psychopaths now have a deeper understanding of people's minds and may lead to more cults/people being used. It may also lead to less as people will be more aware of what to look out for.

Prevention is always better than a cure. Many are psychopathic, but I think this will help prevent overthinkers.

Meditation/journaling - helps clear head.

No Complainig - not allowing yourself to complain stops the artificial growth of problems (dirty dishes, dishes Pilled to the roof, the kitchens a tip, they never clean the house, they're doing this to hurt me, I'll hurt them before they have a chance to hurt me again).

2. Philosophy class

Having a list of rules helps guide us through life. You can make up your own rules, but you need to debate why you choose these rules. This will help identify problem children and will help them see flaws in their own philosophy.

3. Self defence classes

Maybe the only way they feel they can get back at the world is by attacking those weaker than them. And who isn't weaker when you're the one with the gun?

What if they felt powerful without a gun?

That helps lead people in, but as we all know self defence isn't about that. It's about being powerful enough that you never need to fight. Self discipline, a new place to make friends, growth. Self defence classes will give them a purpose.

4. Make hitting bullies ok

If you're able to prove that you have been bullied you can attack your bullies with a baseball bat. Less deadly than a gun and allows only those who 'deserve it' to be harmed.

This may lead to less bullying as well. That or bullies will make victims look like a bully in order to attack them.

Is there a better way to make sure only the bullies get punished?

5. Changing rooms

Like a biolab. You can get in but without a full change you can't get far. This goes for everyone, even guests. Guns will be easy found and this serves as a barrier to the main school area.

Wastes time. You could just have a barrier at front door /airport body scanner. This leads to more jobs (security).

6. Manditory youth clubs

After school all kids should go to a youth club. This gives them another chance to make friends and reduce overthinking. If they're having fun and happy they'll be much less likely to want to watch the world burn.

Government can pay, so every child gets the chance. Happy kids are something everyone should be willing to pay for.

7. Projects

If they're busy working on something they'll have less time to plan their attack. Working on something positive should also help reduce their dismay towards everything. Students (well everyone really) should always have projects to be working on.

8. Brainwashing

Kids learn to deal with problems from what they see/hear /read ect. Brainwash them and provide as many better alternatives as possible.

Even if they don't currently feel this way, if they ever do these will be first to mind, not shoot everyone.

9. Diagnose psychopathic tendencies

I don't know if it's possible, but if it is tests kids and keep watch on ones that could be psychopathic. If they are parents /carers will need to go through stricter procedures /be prevented from getting a gun.

Can psychopaths be trained to be productive or is it in their nature to be destructive?

10. Role play

Role play so kids everyone has somewhat of a plan, should the worst case happen.

At what stage is it hopeless (when in the classroom). What obstacles can be put in place to make getting to that stage impossible? (electronic doors) noone gets in without a fingerprint (only teachers). If kids go to bathroom, they can only get in by having someone on the inside letting them in.
