How to start playing drums

1. Buy pair of drumsticks

3. Invest in a good drum throne

A proper seating during learning and further drumming is a must!

4. Learn the various grips

German grip, French grip, American grip, traditional grip

5. Understand music notation

It’s really easier than someone thinks. The music actually is an exact science. You just need to understand math fractions and be able to sum them.

6. Understand the metronome

Metronome helps you count these notes. It is not only about the tempo.

7. Learn basic rudiments

Single stroke, doubles, triplets, paradiddles, flams, accents.

8. Be patient

There is no need to rush. Play everything slowly. You will have a chance to speed up later.
