Ideas to get back your habit streak once Iost

    1. Create a tracking mechanism

    0

I've begun tracking my lists in Twos. I can see where I have gaps and where I have lists scheduled ahead. Since I started logging my lists this way, I have greater visibility of where I have and haven't created lists. You can use the same technique with any habit. I use printables as well to track other daily habits.

    2. Don't let yourself off the hook

    0

I've had days when I've been 'too tired' or 'not feeling well'. I've made myself create a list, even a half hearted list as it was better to tick the box than miss altogether.

    3. Focus on habits that mean something to you

    0

I've managed to write 200+ lists. Yet, I've failed in maintaining other habits. Focus on what's important. If it doesn't mean anything to you, it will be harder to maintain.

    4. Accountability

    0

Without doubt, creating lists in public and in a community, has been a big driver. Having that accountability has kept me going. Whatever your habit, team up with someone else or a group. Find a group online that can cheer you on.

    5. Don't miss more than two days

    0

Not sure who said this but it's good advice. If you miss one day, don't worry. If you miss two, OK. But don't miss the third.

    6. Set yourself up to succeed

    0

When are you most likely to complete your habit? I used to write my lists last thing at night. Then I started doing them first thing and this worked much better. I had more energy and time. My lists are more considered. I'm more creative. Follow your energy and it makes things easier.

    7. Carrot or stick

    0

I'm a carrot person. I don't do well with the stick. How can you motivate yourself and what's your preferred style?

    8. Let it go

    0

If you do break your streak and there's no recovering it, then let it go. You've done it once, you can do it again. Start rebuilding your streak and see if as a new challenge.
