Lesser known books, everyone should read
Gonna go with all fiction on this list!
1. Flesh Guitar by Geoff Nicholson: Fantasy guitar to rock your world.
2. As She Climbed Across the table: Love Jonathan Lethem's stuff. This 'may' be my fave.
3. Death on the Installment Plan: Celine. Just in case you think your life sucks...check out poor Ferdinand's. Starting a run of Bukowski's inspirations.
4. The Road to Los Angeles: John Fante- Fante's first!
5. The Heart is a Lonely Hunter: Carson McCullers. Buk wrote a poem about the author.
6. Down and out in Paris and London. Lesser-known Orwell novel.
7. Hunger- Knut Hamsun
Do something fun afterwards...like eat a pizza!
8. Nausea- Jean-Paul Sarte
Pardon my existential crisis...
9. The Sun Also Rises-Hemingway;
Buk loved Hemingway. Straight forward style seen in Buk's work.
10. Tales of Ordinary Madness-Charles Bukowski
My introduction to Bukowski. Right out the gate became my favorite author.
