1. Always somebody else out there telling you what to do and what to think.
And our minds are crippled by this. However, there is an escape route. We have to stand completely alone and be a light unto ourselves. Which is to say, lose the self. Turn inward and rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, rather than the opinions and judgments of others.
You probably won't believe this but we are not the ego-self that we have constructed, but rather the eternal, divine Self that is one with God. The false self is full of limiting beliefs and no peace can come until we free ourselves from the ego's thought system. Is the world you see a snake or a rope, a snake-rope, a rope-snake, or nothing at all?
