Reasons I am rich beyond my wildest dreams

As I mentioned in my list yesterday, wealth can be measured in more ways than money.

1. I have faith in God

Religion has fallen out of favor with a lot of people, but it works for me. It's part of my cultural DNA and helps form my personal ethics and provides wisdom that I value. God has blessed me in so many profound ways.

2. I have a wife I love and trust

Divorce is all too common and so is infidelity. I'm so grateful to be spending my life with a woman I respect and cherish.

3. I have a supportive family

A lot of my peers came from broken families. I had a stable upbringing and I still get to spend time with my parents. I also have wonderful in-laws.

4. I have a career doing something I love

I pinch myself when I wake up and realize that work doesn't feel like work.

5. I have access to the most advanced medicine the world has ever seen

So many ailments that used to be a virtual death sentence have now been eradicated with modern medicine.

6. I have virtually all the knowledge of the human race at my fingertips

The internet is kind of a big deal

7. My life probably isn't even halfway over yet

Statistically speaking, I will probably live for another 40 or 50 years.

8. I can be fairly confident that most of the wealth I generate during my life will not be taken from me

We have a stable government and society, where the threat of having my wealth violently taken is pretty low.

9. I am a pretty fast learner

I can pick up on new skills and concepts quickly, so I'm able to seize new opportunities as they arise.

10. I have a well rounded set of skills

I have technical skills, fairly good hands-on skills, and I'm working on developing my communication skills.
