Reframes, biases and laws of the world
Still need to think of a good title. Till then here's some more notes on how to improve your thinking and change your life for the better.
1. Failure is data
View failure as a lesson. You learn a lot more by failing, than succeeding. Succeeding confirms what you already thought, failure forces you to search for new answers.
2. Volinteery Discomfort
We all face discomfort in our lives, but if you face it violently, when it does arise it won't hurt so much.
Sleep on the sofa /floor and should you ever be forced to do it, it won't be so bad.
Wear a stupid hat so people look at you. You'll soon realise people don't care.
Get rejected by as many people as possible.
We don't grow unless we face discomfort.
3. Give meaning to tasks
Don't tell people what to do, make them understand why things need done. When people understand they can think of better solutions. They'll also find meaning in their work. If they don't understand shortcuts will be made, which could result in important steps being missed.
Give meaning to a task and people will enjoy doing it more.
4. Bring play into it
Everything improves when we bring play into it. A challenge against a workmate. A speed challenge against yourself. A quantity challenge. If you want others to work harder add a sense of play. Plays volentery, once forced it's just another part of work, one that looks meaningless. So be careful with how you use this.
5. Trust what predicts
If something always comes out a certain way it makes sense to trust that. Even if you don't know why it works.
If you're current knowledge keeps resulting in failed predictions, change it.
6. Disagree with your group
If you don't disagree with your group there is a good chance you've been brainwashed. Find aspects you disagree with and speak out. If others won't let you disagree with things there's a good chance their brainwashed.
The brainwashed are slaves to the idiology. Regain your freedom. Disagree.
7. Do it now
If you do it now you won't have to stress the rest of the day thinking about doing it.
Similar to this do the most important tasks in the morning. You'll have a feeling of a compliment the rest of the day and you'll be free to focus fully on whatever you want later.
8. How many times, like this, do we have left?
One day will be the last day you do X. Sometimes we know graduation, new job, marage ect. But more often than not the last time takes us by surprise. Friends die, a fire destroys your hangout spot, you slip and break your back making you wheelchair bound.
Everything we do, we could be doing for the last time. Reflect on that so you can appreciate it more. And even if it's not the last just how many times do you have left of doing this?
Appreciate time
9. How can I use negative feelings to my advantage?
Why do we have negative feelings? They're signals that something isn't right. Often it's our thinking that's not right, that's what I hope to combat here, but sometimes it's our diet. Eat crap, feel crap. Sometimes it's our environment. If you're surroundings bring you down, move. Sometimes it's other's. If you don't feel you're best with them, dump them and find new people to surround yourself with.
10. Benifits
If you list the potential benifits people are far more likely to buy whatever your selling.
We are all looking for a better life, offer people that and they'll gladly take whatever you are offering them.
11. Want more?
I have a 2 short guidebooks that offer a step by step guide on how to live a happier life. Give your loved ones the best start to 2023 by giving them a copy for Christmas.
