A frame is a guide. It directs people where to look, but more importantly, helps them interpret what they see. Every message—whether written, spoken, illustrated, or signed—is presented through a frame of some kind. Simply put, every communication is framed.
Momentum has both magnitude and direction and so does a frame. Once you lose the frame/momentum it's difficult to get it back because of the magnitude and direction.
Frames are mostly mental constructs at best reinforces our belief that we are separate beings.
1. Validation Vacuums - a person who regularly validates you stops doing so. Action Step: God, spare me from the desire for love, approval, validation, or appreciation. Amen
2. Validation Vacuums - Part 2 - When I don’t look for approval outside myself, I remain my own source of approval. Action Step: I want you to approve of what you approve of because I love you and I will never tell you no.
3. Are you doing a particular dance to keeps others in the room? Action Step: Do your dance and those that want to be in the room will stay and those that don't will leave.
4. Prizing: Get others to qualify themselves to you. Action step: I am above no one nor am I beneath anyone so there is never a need for me to qualify myself to anyone should anyone should feel the need to qualify themselves to me.
5. Shaping: Praise another for a power you want to them to possess. Action Step: See others as they are (Infinite and Boundless) and stop projecting our own shortcomings onto other people.
6. Shaping: - Part 2 - Things happen to us twice in life. First mental - then physical. First thought - then action. Action Step: Our world is a mirror image reflecting back to us our innermost thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.
7. Tribe Building. We are more alike than we are different but our ego - false sense of self does a fantastic job of convincing us otherwise. Action Step: Love your brother as you love yourself.
8. Tribe Building. - Part 2 - Action Step: Until we see everybody as part of the "in-group" our work is not done.
9. Know Your Inferiority Narratives: Self Talk. Inner Voice. Most of our internal dialogue is that of a mad man/woman. Action Step: Become aware of your internal dialogue and change it. Realize that you are the cause not the effect.
10. Steer Clear - any situation where there can only be one "winner" the person who controls the frame wins.: Action Step: Redefine Winning - both parties get what they want and when they walk away they are willing to do business again.
11. Disrupt The Pattern - The more we react to frames, the stronger the frame becomes. Action Step: What you give your attention to expands. What you take your attention away from dissipates and dies.
12. Choose Your Frame Or It Will Be Chosen For You - If someone gives you a "gift" and you do not accept it then to whom does the gift belong? Action Step: Stop accepting "gifts" from others and then blaming it on the other.
13. Spend Your Energy Wisely - Each of us has a limited amount of energy at our disposal on a daily basis so use it wisely. Action Step: Understand and embrace that a person convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.
