The joys of a wood burning stove

1. A different heat

A stove gives out better heat than a radiator

2. Saves money

Gas/electric has gone up in price, like everywhere. A wood burner is less expensive (after the initial outlay). We have a friendly farmer providing us with wood. Plus, we make our own eco briquettes. 

3. Nice to look at

It's a real pleasure sitting in front of a real fire. It's relaxing and mesmerising. We sit and talk. 

4. Bamber loves it!

5. Fire starter

There's something ancient about making fire.

6. Self sufficient

We can cook on the stove, boil water and keep warm. During power cuts we could be self sufficient.
