    2. They pretend that being an Amazon best-seller (in some subcategory on the one day they got all their friends to buy a copy) means anything.

    3. They say the price is going up tomorrow, there are only a few left, and it will never be this cheap again.

    4. They promise to reveal something “They” don’t want you to know.

    5. They say they did something for 7 days, or 21 days, or 30 days “and here’s what happened.” Spoiler: nothing happened.

    6. They call simple, common sense methods “hacks.”

    7. THEY promise a list of ten people you didn’t know were gay, or broke, or dead, with a picture of a person who ISN’T gay, broke or dead and isn’t on the list.

    8. They send you a sales pitch email and a few hours later say they oops, they made some minor error and here’s the corrected version, hoping this time you’ll bite.

    9. They promise you “up to” ten but deliver only eight.
