What are unhelpful things taught in school

Tell someone, so they can tell the bully that what they are doing is wrong. Doesn't work.

Bullying should be seen as a habit. They continue because they enjoy the results of doing it. Start making it uncomfortable for them and they'll soon stop.

We're taught to memorise, rather than to understand. You don't need to know why, you just need to know this so you can pass the exam.

We have the Internet. We don't need to memorise so much. By teaching us so we understand a lot more progress will be made. And retention will go up as we can see practical uses for this knowledge.

How much content do you actually use in your day to day life? Hardly anything past primary school.

High schools should be restructured so that more time gets spent teaching things that matter /will be of use after leaving school.

Specific to Scottish schools. Every Christmas we'd learn a Scottish dance. Noone liked it you had to ask someone to be your partner in front of everyone, which wasn't easy.

I've been to two Scottish dances since then with American friends who where visiting. They managed fine so the years of learning it seems pointless to me.

We where told to not use so much paper in order to save the rainforest. Now we're being told papers better than plastic. We should have been focusing on plastic this whole time

Go to uni, work hard and you'll be able to get the best jobs. Noone cares if you have a degree, what they want is experience, which is much easier gained by dropping out high school and starting early.
