Both written by a friend of mine and both GREAT reads for 10 year olds and adults as well

7. Sapiens, Homo Deus, and 21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Harari

Great reads about history, futurism, etc

8. The Black Swan by Nassim Taleb (again!) but this time the fiction version he wrote with a friend called "The Jesuit Paradox"
