What I liked doing as a kid
1. Playing board games and creating board games
I loved playing Monopoly, Risk, any kind of strategy game. I'd create board games and even ruined a coffee table with permanent markers once because I was creating a game on it. My parents did not appreciate this.
2. Playing sports
I played football, baseball, ice hockey, roller hockey and lacrosse. I was an athlete who also happened to do really well in school. It made for some complicated friendships (my athlete friends would wonder why I hung out with nerds and my nerd friends would wonder why I hung out with athletes).
3. Playing the saxophone
I was the first chair in my school's jazz band. Music is an all inclusive discipline. It involves math, language, creativity, physical fitness (if you're playing a woodwind or if you have to carry a heavy instrument) and more.
4. Volunteering
I really enjoyed volunteering at a soup kitchen. It was/is such a fulfilling experience to help people who are struggling.
5. Watching Movies/Creating Movie Scripts
We all love a good story.
6. Video Games
When I got Final Fantasy for Playstation, I don't think I left my basement for days/weeks at a time for anything other than going to the bathroom or eating.
7. Playing Card Games
War, Rummy, Uno, Poker. My cousin and I would use candy for poker....I raise you a starburst and a now and later.
8. Making Money
I sold sneakers at a Footaction when I wasn't in school or studying.
