Our essence is the same as God's, and we are whole, complete, and innocent. However, through our belief in separation from God, we have forgotten our true identity and have become lost in the darkness of the ego's illusions.

When Jesus tells us that we are the light of the world, he is reminding us of our original nature and calling us to recognize and embrace it. He is encouraging us to see beyond the ego's false perceptions of sin, guilt, and fear, and to remember the truth of who we really are.

"Light" is a symbol for the truth, love, and wisdom that come from God. As beings of light, our purpose is to extend this truth and love to others, illuminating the darkness of the world with the light of God's grace. We are meant to be beacons of hope, healing, and forgiveness, guiding others back to the recognition of their own inner light.

Being the light of the world does not mean striving to be perfect or saintly in the eyes of others. Rather, it means consistently choosing to align our thoughts with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and allowing God's love to shine through us in all that we do. This love is not something we do, but who we are.

By embracing our role as the light of the world, we not only find deep inner peace and joy, but we also become instruments of God's love and healing in the lives of others. We help to awaken the world from the dream of separation and darkness.
