10 Books That Made A Difference in My Life
I read a lot of books, mostly non-fiction. But only a small portion of what I read makes a lasting impact. Here are some of the books that have made the biggest impact on my life.
1. The Four-Hour Workweek, by Timothy Ferriss
I've read and re-read this book many times. It has been my bible for how to work towards a good, productive life and an early retirement.
2. The Four-Hour Body, by Timothy Ferriss
This book goes hand-in-hand with The Four-Hour Workweek. I've been using the principles in the book (especially the Slow-Carb Diet) to stay healthy over the past decade.
3. Letters from a Stoic, by Lucius Annaeus Seneca
So much Stoic wisdom packed in one book of ancient letters.
4. Influence, by Robert Cialdini
This is an eye-opening psychology book that teaches how human behavior is influenced.
5. The Miracle Morning, by Hal Elrod
I was never a "morning person," but this book showed me the value in waking up at 5am to start your day, especially if you have little kids and other daytime distractions.
6. How to Win Friends and Influence People, by Dale Carnegie
Similar to Influence, but aims more at business people. The book shows you how to build relationships (win friends) and persuade people to do what you want them to (influence people).
7. Atomic Habits, by James Clear
Probably the best habits book I've ever read. It goes in-depth on how to build lasting habits to make your life better.
8. Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill
The mind is more powerful than many of us believe. With these techniques, you can achieve whatever goals you can imagine.
9. On Writing Well, by William Zinsser
This is the best writing book I've ever read, and I've read many.
10. White Fang, by Jack London
White Fang was the first novel I ever LOVED and wished it could continue after I had finished it. It's also the only novel I've ever read more than once.
