10 easy ways to build mental toughness that you can do today

    1. Skip a meal

    2. Work with no heat on during a colder season

    3. Give yourself a tight deadline

    If it takes you an afternoon to write a letter, write it in one hour.

    4. Wake up early

    5. Don't use your screens/devices for a whole day

    6. Walk a long distance that you normally drive to or take public transit

    Within walking distance, of course.

    7. Do something where there's a good chance you'll get rejected

    8. Don't stop doing something when you feel tired and push through till you're finished

    9. Force yourself to read a highly educational but complex piece of writing on a subject that's interesting to you

    Like a textbook.

    10. Expose yourself to ideas or perspectives that don't align with yours and make you feel uncomfortable.
