10 Ideas For A Better Long-Haul Flight Experience
I'm not travelling in business class and often too cheap for economy plus.
1. Noise-Cancelling Headphones.
This makes the most difference for me as someone who doesn't do well in noisy environments.
2. Easy to slip on and off shoes.
It's a long haul flight, so my feet are more likely to be cold. Socks aren't cutting it in case the bathroom floor is wet. Sandals are a bad idea in case I need to dash to the next gate.
3. Comfortable, yet stylish clothes.
Something that allows movement, keeps the body temperature, yet doesn't look like a pyjama. In case they are looking for someone to upgrade.
4. Neck Pillow.
Nobody wants a stiff neck the next day. Will try trtl pillow for my next long-haul flight.
5. Easy access to amenities needed for the flight.
Hand sanitizer, moisturizer, mask, lip balm, and water.
6. Aisle seat on the middle island is best.
Less likely to get interrupted by people going to the restroom, doesn't need to bother anyone when going to the bathroom. Though I'd pick windows if I could stay put the whole flight.
7. Keep hydrated.
Easy on caffeine and alcohol.
8. Glasses instead of contact lenses.
The air is dryer, and sometimes my entire journey takes 24 hours.
9. Load up on books / music / movies.
I'm always happy to browse on the in-flight entertainment to catch up on a movie I might have missed at the cinema. But just in case, I'll load up books on Kindle and some relaxing music to fall asleep on.
10. Bring a battery charger.
Cause obviously we're so attached to our electronic devices.
