10 of my Favorite Travel Accessories

I actually received this at my last job. Unbeknowst to me, it's apparently the uniform of strategy consultants everywhere.

In any case, it's cute, functional, and very durable- what else can you ask for?

I can't believe I went so long without this! It lets me watch movies on planes without needing to save battery or worrying my devices are going to die.

These can look goofy, but they make a world of difference when it comes to trying to sleep well.

These are more of a "nice-to-have" than a "need-to-have," but they really up the comfort factor.

These make all the difference, especially for people like me who often fly on cheap airlines. Babies, babies, everywhere!

I don't know if these are important to everyone, but to me they're a big help. My ears are sensitive to pressure changes, and these reduce the pain considerably.

If you're a budget flyer like me, you can find yourself in situations where you're only allowed to bring one bag on board. The exception to this is newstand bags containing items you've "just" bought at airport kiosks. Theoretically, that is! I've been carrying a newsstand bag around with me at all times, and I use it to hold my purse when I've only paid to bring a backpack onboard. It's worked like magic.

You never know where your flight may take you, or what might happen to make you stuck at an airport. Cash is very useful for emergencies (and probably only then, because otherwise it represents a bit of a stress).

For some reason, I always love having a new packet of fruit-flavored Mentos with me when I fly. Feel free to replace Mentos with your candy of choice. I think candy is a helpful reminder of the fun and excitement of travel.

I picked up this habit during Covid, and I'm never looking back. I always used to get a cold after traveling, but since wearing a mask while traveling I haven't been sick once. Plus, I like to fall asleep on planes, and wearing a mask lets me fall asleep freely (read: with my mouth hanging open) without worrying that I'm going to look goofy.
