10 Small habits that compound
H/T to @RayInNJ
1. Overeating
Obvious results…
2. Daily stretching
any given day, I might not notice the tremendous difference, but overall, my aches and pains have all gone away
3. Teeth flossing
Being nagged one too many times by the sadistic hygienist, I decided to floss my own teeth every day with periodic deep cleanings with my bought on Amazon dental pick kit. My teeth feel great and I have not had to go to the dentist in many years.
4. Reading books
If you read a lot, and I’m including audiobooks, your "knowledge mulch" keeps getting richer and deeper, and you can see things from multiple perspectives more often.
5. Writing lists.
I have written about this many times here. Lots of benefits.
6. Avoiding phone calls with friends.
If you don’t pick up the phone, it will stop ringing.
7. Doom scrolling on social media.
The more you do, the more you do...
8. At least 10 minutes of daily exercise.
It helps to keep the bar low so that you don’t think that it’s a waste. I had to run some errands, but I did my stretching in 10 minutes instead of my usual half hour. A few months ago I might not have tried to squeeze it in.
9. Cleaning your house.
If you keep up with it, your house can be nice if you don’t it can be a grimy mess. I’ve lived in both and I’m the only one to blame.
10. Arguing with family members and avoiding arguments with family members
For many years I gave into the perpetual cycle of permanent arguments. Is taking a lot of effort to step off, but the compounding habit works in both directions.
