10 Tech Tools for a Better Life

@10xUnicorn from looking at your own submission, it looks like you had software in mind. I wanted to try adding diversity to the list by adding some low-tech tools. OTOH I think I may have broadened what you meant by "tech" or "tool".

    1. Free phone-calls over the Internet connection

It helps me stay in touch with friends I made while in school and also while I was nomading.

    2. any reputable password manager

    3. grocery delivery app

I wander and waste so much time when I actually go in person. I don't know why I do this. Whatever is the reason, I do grocery much more efficiently when I do it over an app because I almost always order the same stuff, and it's done in 5 minutes.

    4. Obsidian

This is my most recent favorite text editor

    5. Audible

Just thinking about it now, if it weren't for Audiobooks I might be okay with a flip-phone.

    6. Laptop stands

A low-tech gem. How did I ever live without this? If you have never tried this, you ARE missing out. One of my personal best purchases of 2022.

    7. massage balls

Like the laptop stand, it costs about as much as a book, and it really alleviates certain muscle tensions whose discomfort can sometimes permeate into other areas too.

    8. banana hanger

It looks like this, and it helps the banana to stay fresh longer. Really useful.

    9. laundry whitener

Maybe I am projecting myself on this one. Maybe many of you actually have been using this for years. I just got one this month for the first time. White Jiujitsu gi's get yellow stains on the collar. This thing every now and then makes it really white. I initially wrote "really clean" but... I feel icky about this. If anybody knows of a gentler way to tackle the sweat stains please let me know.

    10. kitchen weighing scale

Measuring my diet made me eat more precisely which can be good or bad.
