I am in a cynical mood today....
1. Kidnapping: A vulnerable individual arrives
2. Extortion: They demand money up front for admission: $5,000 to $20,000 to get through the door
Your alternatives: back on the street.
3. Extortion: Depending on the response to this demand, they categorize the opportunity
4. They use an "iPad" signature where the signer cannot read the document they are signing.
5. Extortion: They use "Balance Billing" which means they will bill for all services. This is essentially a blank check.
6. Kidnapping: They will "adjust meds" which keeps the patient vulnerable and dependent
7. Kidnapping: They will gaslight the patient during therapy to keep them unstable and vulnerable: "working on issues"
8. Kidnapping: In this vulnerable state they dangle the threat of premature release in front of the patient and generate a Stockholm Syndrome dependency. The patient wants/needs to stay
9. Extortion: They will delay and ignore inquiries about insurance as the meter is running, mis-file paperwork
10. Extortion: If they really think the money is gone they will show you the door in a hurry
