10 ways to avoid the word "sorry" in corporate communication
I have this word in the corp environment, but I'm still using it too much, maybe because of my Canadian roots. I read that it demonstrates your weakness. Never thought this way until I read that :)
1. Apologize
I apologize for any inconvenience caused.
2. Regret
I regret that this situation occurred.
3. Express remorse
I express my remorse for any issues this may have caused.
4. Take responsibility
I take full responsibility for any mistakes made.
5. Acknowledge
I acknowledge that this situation could have been handled better.
6. Admit
I admit that I made a mistake.
7. Seek forgiveness
I seek your forgiveness for any issues caused.
But this sounds more like someone died.
8. Ask for understanding
I ask for your understanding in this matter.
9. Make amends
I will make every effort to rectify the situation.
10. Express gratitude
I am grateful for the opportunity to address this matter and make things right.
Or say "Thanks for waiting!" instead of "Sorry, I'm late.".
