10 ways to spend 5 minutes productively
Everybody has 5 minutes here and there. Waiting in line. Waiting in traffic. Waiting for your partner to get ready to go out. In between meetings. But how do you use them productively? Here are 10 ways you can do that.
1. Meditation
Meditating for five minutes can help build your focus
2. Set your intention
What do you want to do next? How do you want to bring yourself to the work or conversation? What are you hoping to get out of it?
3. Read
5 minutes is enough to read a few pages. And small things add up.
4. Put away one thing
We all have too much clutter in our workspaces. Put away one thing with your 5 minutes.
5. Get up and stretch
I like the following stretches: child's pose, leg swings, cat and cow and the sunrise pose
6. 5 minute work out
Pushups for a minute, situps for a minute, dips (on your chair) for a minute, static wall sit, and jump squats
7. Close down any apps or windows on your laptop that you aren't using any more
8. Reply to an email that you haven't replied to
9. Do nothing
If you feel like you're not being productive, do nothing. Literally nothing. Don't look at your phone. Don't read. Don't talk to anyone. It's really hard not to do something.
