10 ways to use Notion to keep track of creative projects
This is an amazing "everything app" that I just discovered: notion.so. It is "freemium" and has a ton of features.
I was considering writing an app that would do a subset of this, but my time would be better spent learning how to use Notion.
The UI is so instantaneous it is really amazing. Right click and created to do list. Add sub-pages within other documents with a single clicks.
1. Keep track of notes in a folder hierarchy
2. Use the project planner feature
3. Easily create project websites
They give you one as a template. It is so rapid that it is hard to understand at first. You just drag and drop and you suddenly have a website. You can also use custom URLs
4. Create a Wiki page
Turn any page into a Wiki page! This can then become an internal knowledge site.
5. Use the brand Assets page to keep track of your marketing materials
This is a template that they provide:
6. Everything in Notion is a "block"
With this concept, you can stack small pieces of information to become complex wiki and websites
7. Use the Content Calendar to create posts
8. Use AI to search and summarize your own data
I have used this app for about an hour:
Notion provided links to the pages where I had written these notes!
9. Organize your research for nonfiction or character development for fiction or nonfiction
You can do this with nested pages
10. Import data from other services
