$1000 Car Payments

Seeing a lot on my feeds about the number of people with $1000 car payments going up into the double digits. Do all you can to avoid that hedonic treadmill. Car payments like that are the antithesis of everything that goes with financial independence which is a huge factor in the ability to own your time which both contribute to being completely free. I write regularly about being orthogonal to society, well avoiding $1000 car payments is huge on this front.

I drive a 2006 Toyota Tundra that I bought with a ZIRP loan that has been paid off since 2009. No car payments contributes greatly to our freedom.
