What do I want my life to look like before my birthday, next month?

    1. New Job

    0

I've been saying it for almost a year now. I can't find any 'normal' job that I'd be happy doing and building a following has been a slow process.

I thought getting into uni would be a good way forward, but I've not heard back from them yet.

Maybe I can sell short animations on fiver (or something similar)

    2. More followers

I boost in my audience is always good. How can I achieve this? I can start sharing my comics again as well as my new animation.

    3. Sell more books

I've sold a few, but it would be great if even more people read them.

The Rocco Effect: Set 1 https://amzn.eu/d/8M544Ha

    4. 100 advice videos

I think I could write up 100 different bits of advice and make up 60 sec videos on them.

I'd like to have my own 'The Rocco Effect' tshirt /hat made for when I do this.

    5. Easy! English Animation

I have high hopes for this animation. Hopefully I can get it finished this month.

    6. Gig

Hopefully I can see a band or two before my birthday.

Hi there! It sounds like you're struggling to find fulfillment in your current job search and are considering alternative options like creating short animations or boosting your audience. I think it's great that you're exploring different avenues and being creative in your approach. One thing to keep in mind is that building a following and finding success in any field takes time and effort, so don't get discouraged if it's a slow process. Keep putting yourself out there and sharing your work, and eventually, you'll find the right opportunity or audience. Best of luck to you!

You might want to read “the Creative Act” by Rick Rubin. He talks about pursuing art. He points out that most artists need a day job: you might want to try to find one that you like and/or tolerate. Building a following as an artist seems to take about 10 years of hard daily work to “make it “ and I’m sure many people still don’t.

Thanks Chris I'l add that book to my list. Yeah it's tough, but it's the life I want to live so I'll keep at it.
