4 Ways to be consistent
Our career paths are not straight. They are more like a bumpy road. At the same time, life is full of wonders and surprises. You diligently make a plan to follow and the very next day, something ‘urgent’ happens and takes you completely off the track. This is the reason why a lot of people can’t follow through with their New Year Resolutions.
1. Be Accountable
If you’re accountable, you’ll try to maintain consistency. This is the biggest factor why niche specific marketplaces were able to maintain their presence. A freelancer hired through fiverr or upwork would try hard to deliver the promised work in time because she is accountable and if she’ll not do the work in time as agreed, her reputation on the platform would hurt resulting in a decrease in the work.
2. Be in a Productive Environment
After genes the second major determinant of our personality is environment. This is even evident in nature. There are certain crops that can only grow in specific seasons or countries so our environment does shape a major part of personality.
3. Be a Generalist
When we are in the start of our career, we should be generalists. If we have one service to offer which has 10 prospective clients then the possible number of total clients would be 10 only. But if you have 10 services to offer which has 10 prospective clients for each service then the possible number of total clients would be 100 so If we'll offer more, there is a chance of getting more work
4. Surround Yourself with Like Minded People
Jim Rohn has rightly said that You're The Average Of The Five People You Spend The Most Time With. If you'll be around winners, you'll eventually pick up the habits of winners and if you'll surround yourself with losers, you'll soon become one of them. Every person we meet has some kind of reaction on us. The person we meet with has his impact on us and we have our impact on him so being around the people who are positive and motivated will eventually make you positive and motivated
