5 Ways to Easily Learn any Language in a Fraction of the Time

Speaking another language is like a magical spell, which opens up different adventures and parts of the world. As someone who speaks 3 languages almost fluently, here are 5 ways I’ve found to easily become proficient in a new language without boring classes or years of study!

    1. Watch Series & Movies

If you add up all the time you binge watch Netflix or spend seeing the latest movies, you might feel guilty for wasting time. Imagine creating a situation where you can both enjoy your favorite entertainment, relax, and learn hours and hours of a new language as well.

    2. Live Abroad

People will spend years in University and tens of thousands of dollars just to receive a degree in Spanish, French, etc.

A much better plan would be to save all that time and money and live in a different country for 6-12 months.

    3. Music

If you enjoy music like myself, consider making it a habit to put on a Spotify or other playlist in a different language. Then go about your day with the music in the background while your subconscious mind absorbs the new language.

    4. Sports and Hobbies

Pairing the things you love and enjoy with a new language you are trying to learn is a fantastic strategy!

If you love MMA/BJJ like I do, train with Brazilians to learn Portuguese. If you are a big soccer/sports fan watch the games in Spanish and play in a league with Spanish speakers. This strategy applies to hobbies outside of sports like Chess, theater, etc.

    5. Consistency>Quantity

When I was improving my computer programming I would see my friends and employees code for hours and hours and get intimidated about the focus needed to learn.

Until I heard some great advice which was It’s better to code for 20 minutes everyday than 3 hours twice a week.

The same is true with learning human languages as with computer languages, consistency is key. Much better to do 10 minutes of Duolingo everyday, than spending a whole day learning a new language only to forget it the rest of the week.
