8 AMAZING SCENES FROM THE CLASSIC 1978 MOTION PICTURE "FOUL PLAY"

This movie is the best! I saw someone on YouTube describe it as a "Hitchcockian slapstick comedy" which I think sums it up well.

I saw it when I was a little kid, and for some reason, it has stuck with me all these years. It has Chevy Chase and Dudley Moore at their comedic finest, and the chemistry between Chase and Goldie Hawn really drives the narrative.

Plus, who doesn't like evil albinos, having Burgess Meredith as their landlord, crashing Gilbert and Sullivan operas, evil archbishops, Papal assassination attempts, and car chases through the streets of San Francisco?

    1. The opening credits - perhaps the greatest opening credits for a movie EVER.

Goldie Hawn driving a yellow convertible VW Bug on the highway along the cliffs of Muir Beach while Barry Manilow performs his classic, "Ready to Take a Chance Again."

    2. When Chevy Chase tries to pick up Goldie Hawn by asking her to take a shower.

    Chevy Chase is hilarious.

    3. THIS IS THE GREATEST DUDLEY MOORE SCENE OF ALL TIME!

When Dudley Moore's misogynistic character (remember this is the 70s) mistakenly thinks Goldie Hawn's character is picking him up, he brings her to his apartment and hilarity ensues.

    4. "Beware of the Dwarf."

When Goldie Hawn's character agrees to meet a man for a move date, he shows up for a different reason altogether.

    5. The albino library scene.

Another reminder that this movie isn't just a comedy. It's got some good suspense as well.

    6. The albino apartment scene.

When Goldie Hawn's character passes out in her bathroom after seeing the albino and awakes to a clever Chevy Chase.

    7. THE GREATEST KARATE SCENE EVER FEATURING BURGESS MEREDITH.

When the incomparable Burgess Meredith tries to save Goldie and Chevy from the evil archbishop. Note: I can't get the embed to go to the specific scene, so fast forward to 5:24.

    8. Car chase scene through San Francisco.

    Classic and hilarious scene!
