Advice on asking a girl out on a date.
I'll try to answer this for @jay_yow07. It's been a while since I've been on a first date, but here is my perspective on what would give a guy advantage if I were in the market to date.

1. Be direct: ask her if she'd like to hang out again.
Since you said you've met her in a bar and you're already having a good connection, tell her you had a great time talking with her and would love to do it again.
2. Connect: find out about one of her interests and suggest an activity based on that.
If she said she likes coffee, something like going to a cool coffee place you knew in town. If she likes art, then a new exhibition. Even if she already knows it and like it too, but then it means you have more connection with her.
3. Give space to say no: proof you're not a creepy guy
Never corner her into saying yes, which is why texting is better than calling (unless she loves chatting over the phone). Also, if you're the one suggesting a place, think about places she could have an exit plan and people around, like a cafe, a bar that she trusts, or museums.
4. Caring: Pay attention to what she says
And compliments or give gifts based on that. People are saying flowers can't be wrong, but something specific that shows you're paying attention to what she likes could tip the scale to your favor.
5. Follow / Friend her on social media (if this is an option)
And interact openly. I find this much better than stalking, and you can find out more about what she is like. Also, it's a good low key interaction to see if she's into you as well (if she follows back / interacting with you)
6. Be genuine
Don't be someone else, cause if she falls for it, she'll be in love with another person who you pretend to be.
7. Don't be a jerk
Let's all be a decent human being here. Nobody is perfect, but good manners goes a long way.
8. Just do it, ask her on a date.
The worst is only that she says no, and that could very well be not because of you. But if you don't do it, you would always wonder on what if...
