Prayer is not petitioning a separate deity for specific outcomes, it is a way of remembering our oneness with God and opening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

True prayer is opening our minds to receive the vision of forgiveness and non-judgment that the Holy Spirit offers. "Whatever you ask" is not an individual request, but to the singular asking to receive the miracle - the shift in perception from fear to love.

When we align our mind with God's Will (which is always for our highest good), our prayers are always answered. However, the form the answer takes may differ from our initial perception of what we need.

Having"faith" is not a blind belief, but a deep trust in the love and wisdom of God, even when appearances suggest otherwise.  Faith is being willing to let go of judgments, grievances and belief in separation, and have faith in the truth that we are one with God and share His loving nature.

It is a willingness to let go of our limited, ego-based understanding and trust in the larger plan of the Holy Spirit.

To "receive" means to accept the Holy Spirit's spiritual vision of shared innocence, instead of the ego's perception of sin, guilt and attack. It is receiving true forgiveness for ourselves and others.

What could the world give us that we do not already possess? Our true nature is one with God. Prayer, then, is not about acquiring something we lack, but about remembering and accepting the abundant love and peace that is the only reality.

This verse is not a promise of wish fulfillment, but an assurance that as we align our mind with God and trust in His love, we will experience peace, joy, and abundance. Our prayers are answered not in form, but in the content of healing our mind of the belief in separation from God.

Jesus is not advocating prayer as a way to acquire objects in the world through force of faith. Rather, it is His way of saying that when we sincerely invite the miracle of forgiveness, we will receive the experience of God's Love if we are willing to see truly and have faith in our divine nature.

We are encouraged to let go of all petty requests and grievances, and open our minds to receive the all-encompassing miracle that shifts our perception from fear to love's presence. Our true prayer is the act of surrendering our way to God's Way - the way of forgiveness and peace.
