Beyond the Bite. (1 min 51 sec)

    1. Treating each other with attack and unkindness stems from our identification with the ego, which ACIM calls the "wrong mind."

Pitbull in a Pleated Skirt: This metaphor portrays a ferocious animal (pitbull) juxtaposed with something refined (pleated skirt). It highlights the dissonance between our potential for aggression and our desire to appear civilized.
The ego thrives on separation and fear. It sees others as threats or competitors, leading to attacks (verbal or emotional) to feel superior or safe. This unkindness comes from a place of perceived lack, believing love and value are limited resources.
Our inherent oneness is Spirit, where love and abundance prevail. This is our true Self, which wouldn't dream of attacking.
Here's how we can move beyond this behavior:
Mind Training: ACIM promotes forgiveness exercises to quiet the ego's voice and reconnect with our loving inner Self.
Shifting Perception: When we recognize everyone as part of the one Love, we see attacks as illusory and unnecessary.
Remembering Oneness: Remembering our inherent connection fosters kindness and compassion, replacing the need for aggression.
So, the next time we feel the urge to attack, we can use these loving principles:
Ask ourselves, "Is this coming from a place of love or fear?"
Instead of lashing out, forgive the perceived threat and choose love instead.
Recognize the oneness in everyone and choose kindness.
By practicing these principles, we shed the "pitbull in a pleated skirt" persona and embrace our true, loving nature.
