    1. Type of Podcasting Mic Stands

They're around 6 or 7 types of mic stands how there, however, for podcasting we will look at these four stands.

    2. Regular Mic Stands.

It's the one that's tall, sits on the ground, and with a long boom arm that your microphone is attached to it. It's big, takes up a lot of space, and if your podcast has video elements, it doesn't look good, plus it's not easy to move it around, and adjust it to your liking.

    3. Low-profile Mic Stands

It's a low-profile mic stand that sits on your desk. Usually have a huge base that would take up some space on your desk or a small tripod that you risk breaking due to the weight of the microphone. The downsides of this stand are, it would take up a lot of your desk space, it's hard to pivot and adjust to your liking, and it doesn't look good in front of a camera.

    4. Desk-mounted Mic Stand

A stereotypical mic stands that you see on TV that a radio show host would use. This is generally better than the low-profile mic stands in terms of absorbing the rumble/ noise from the table as well. Generally, they're further away from you, so the chances of you hitting them are lower. However, be mindful that, if you get a low-quality one, you risk the spring making noise every time you move the boom arm.

    5. Desk-mounted Low-Profile Mic Stand

This is similar to the Desk-mounted mic stand but a low-profile one. It has the same benefit as the regular desk-mounted mic stand, and it gives you a great line of sight if you have a guest sitting right in front of you! There's nothing blocking you, and you get to move it however you want! On top of that, it looks great in front of the camera!

    6. Which one should I get?

If you're doing remote recording, or even if you have guests in the same room, always go with the desk-mounted low-profile mic stand. As I said, it gives you a great line of sight, it looks great on the video, and it's less cluttered!
