A manager's job is to help his/her employees grow so they can move up in the world and be successful some day without having to rely on others to help them get there (i.e., firing them).
Coaching vs leading – coaching means helping someone improve their skills while leading means making decisions for them while they improve their skills so they can make decisions themselves one day if needed (which will happen eventually).
Leaders need to be able to take criticism from their employees without taking it personally because an employee's job is to point out problems with his/her leaders so he/she can improve even more than before (this doesn't mean an employee should act like a jerk but just be honest about what he sees that could be improved).
Good leaders will always have great teams around them because great teams attract great leaders who want to work with other great leaders.
8. Systems in place for everything – no excuses

No blame culture
Get rid of anyone who creates this kind of culture
It’s always everyone’s responsibility when things go wrong in any organization no matter what role they play within it
Always keep improving systems so there are no excuses for anything going wrong ever again within your organization
This takes a lot of energy but it’s worth it because this is how organizations become resilient against all external forces that try to bring them down
