I had a great time doing this. You could think it's a waste to watch a movie instead of enjoying the moment, but I find it's a great way to enhance the experience. I also watched a movie when camping out by myself on a beach, eating banana slices in a jar of peanut butter, and it was beautiful.

When I was a college student, I used to go everywhere hitchhiking. I would write where I wanted to go on a piece of paper with a small note such as "I would have helped you reach your destination." I met a lot of great people that way.
That sounds wonderful! When I was in Turkey with my girlfriend, we'd be walking by the side of the road in a remote area and cars would stop while we weren't even trying to hitchhike.
