Golden Prison. (1 min)

    1. How the idle rich become inmates of the ego's workshop.

Rich people are like inmates. Why? Because they’ve got a lot of time on their hands. And hands, as the old saying goes, are the Devil’s (ego’s) workshop. When you’ve got all the time in the world but nothing left to chase, the ego fills the void. They’ve got time to think, time to plan, time to drink, and time to drug. Boredom sets in, and without the distraction of work or purpose, they’re left adrift, prisoners of their own indulgence. They’re rich—rich beyond material wealth but bankrupt in meaning.
Like inmates locked in a gilded cell, they’re trapped by their own abundance. The walls aren’t steel bars but luxury, status, and endless distraction — the ego’s perfect prison. The more time they have, the more the ego sinks its claws into them, feeding on their idleness, crafting false purposes, and numbing them to the truth. It’s the ultimate illusion: believing they’re free when, in reality, they’re shackled by invisible chains, locked in a prison of their own making. True liberation isn’t found in escaping poverty or struggle; it’s found in breaking free from the ego’s endless cycle of emptiness.
