Great interview questions to ask

1. How long do people typically stay at the job?

If people are leaving after a year, chances are it's not a good place to work. If they're staying over 3 years the odds are it will be a great place to work.

2. What would I need to do to get your job?

Knowing what steps you need to take in order to progress gives you something to work towards. Having it in writing gives you a stronger case for getting the promotion once you reach that level.

If you don't get it you have strong reason not to trust them and should look into finding a new job.

3. How do you do things differently?

It's the differences that make the job fun. You also learn how to view the job in a different light. Do they like creativity or do try want you to follow rules like a robot?

Robot work is easy, but creativity brings meaning. You should look for somewhere you can be creative, you'll enjoy the job more.

4. What perks does this company offer?

If you shop around you can find some great perks for walking with a certain company. More holidays, pay per week /month. Discounts. Free training. Ect. Find out what they offer, otherwise they'll never tell you

5. What would need to happen in order for me to leave?

This is a question for yourself. Knowing your limits before you start allows you to see them coming and make plans before things get too bad.
