How do you get a joke from the premise - mistaking a room spray for a throat spray.
1. Surprise
At it's core all good comedy comes from the element of surprise.
Mistaking the sprays and not liking the taste of room spray isn't surprising, it's expected. What would lead to more laughs would be if you enjoyed it.
You could also say something surprising about using the throat spray on your room.
2. Long story
The surprise could be exactly what was expected, that room spray is disgusting.
Norm Macdonald is the expert at this.
3. Dissect
Why do you need throat spray anyway? Maybe you're contagious. Cough on the audience to get some laughs.
Why do you need room spray? Maybe you can't be bothered cleaning. Maybe you have a dead body in the room.
Why are they so similar looking? Who copied who?
