How I can increase downloads of The James Quandahl Show / ANY Podcast
I like the title of this list but I didn't read it so this might have duplicate ideas with the original
1. ANSWER QUESTIONS ON QUORA
0
2. Write "10 things I learned from X" where X was a guest on your podcast.
0
3. WRITE A BOOK:
0
4. FAMOUS GUESTS + CRYPTO GUESTS
0
Also, right now everyone is interested in crypto. Crypto guests have a lot of downloads.
5. GO ON OTHER PODCASTS
0
For instance, when I was on Andrew Schultz's podcast I got many new viewers. I even got a free coffee at a cafe where they heard me A YEAR EARLIER on his podcast.
6. WRITE FOR PUBLICATIONS IN MULTIPLE FIELDS
0
- TechCrunch (entrepreneurship)
- the Wall St Journal (business)
- Quora (general self-help stuff)
- The Elephant Journal (yoga, beleive it or not)
- Thought Catalog (millenials)
- a bunch of other publications.
So some people knew me from the business world, some knew me from Quora, some from yoga, some from TechCrunch, some from comedy, etc etc.
7. THE MORE PRODUCTION VALUE, THE MORE LISTENERS
0
8. JOIN A PODCAST NETWORK THAT REALLY DOES DISTRIBUTION WELL
0
9. BE A GOOD HOST: (Word of mouth is ultimately the best)
0
- do your research. e.g. read every book your guest has written and listen to other podcasts he/she has been on.
- be funny
- ask questions Nobody ever asks.
- make sure the listener is getting value. Always teach something in every episode and try to summarize what you are learning before the end of the episode
- Be as topical as you can. This isn't always true. Sometimes being evergreen is more important but, for instance, when Covid first started, my podcast increased downloads a lot because I did episodes every day helping people understand what was going on in the Covid news.
- be funny. Two of my favorite podcasts are "The Tim Dillon Show" and the old "history hyenas". Very very funny.
- experiment. Try different formats. For instance, sometimes I have guests, sometimes I have mini-series like "I Was Wrong ABOUT.."
10. JAY!
