How to be a better team player?
1. Empathise with the team members and understand their point of view
2. Learn from your peers and juniors and leave your ego behind
3. Come prepared for a meeting or any kind of discussion
4. Help the team members accomplish their work and give the feeling that you are there if they are stuck somewhere.
You don't leave early because your work is done. You stay behind to help those who are stuck
5. Quickly discuss your ideas and plan with the team to understand their point of view
6. Be encouraging to the members by praising and appreciating their work
7. Being concerned about the member if they are not feeling well and see if you could cover their work
8. Listen more and speak less. Listening to your members is important and give feedback when necessary.
9. Share your weaknesses with the members and see how they could help you overcome yours
10. Give feedback to the members as and when needed but be less critical and more encouraging as much as possible.
When the time demands, you might need to be critical to ensure that team outputs are not hampered.
