How to keep a kid entertained when seated without electronics
Restaurants, planes,...
1. Tic Tac Toe
2. Hangman
Alternative: make your own Wordle
3. Play "Genie"
Get your kids to make 3 wishes
4. Rock Paper Scissors
5. "Chopsticks"
2 Players. Each player points their index finger on each hand. The first player hits one of the hands of the other and that other player has to add the number of fingers they were struck by until they are showing 5 (or more) fingers on a hand and that hand is eliminated. You can use your turn to redistribute fingers amongst your hands (e.g. 3 fingers on the left hand can become 2 fingers on the left and 1 on the right).
6. Word Search/Crossword puzzle
Small books full of these can be found in convenience stores, drug stores and airports.
7. Chess/Checkers/Connect Four
Pocket travel versions of these games exist.
8. Draw on a piece of paper
9. Make up a story
Have the child fill in blanks and decide where the story will go.
