Imagine you're a café or restaurant owner, how would you look after your visually impaired/blind patrons?
I don't know much about accessibility so please forgive if these ideas or their assumptions are naive or misinformed.
1. Water Bowls For Service Dogs
Service dogs are not pets, so I'm wary of using pet-friendly features here, but they've still got to drink, right?
2. Braille Menus
3. Posted WiFi Password
This is just a pet peeve of mine with cafes in general because having to bother staff about asking the wifi password is awkward. I imagine the visually impaired might use Internet-enabled apps and devices to help them, so getting them on the Wifi as seamlessly as possible seems like a good idea. A sign with Braille.
4. Low/No Music
Being able to make out any audio cues from the environment is probably more difficult if the music is too loud. If the patron wants to ask a question (for example because they can't read a menu posted behind the counter) they shouldn't need to shout or repeat themselves to the staff either.
5. Braille signs for restrooms
6. Automatic doors
This goes toward accessibility for other disabilities too, but imagine having to carry an order in one hand, and your cane in the other - being able to get the door open with a push of a button is helpful.
7. Accessibility features for the restroom
This is something again that might be more geared to someone in a wheelchair, but I think those roomier stalls and bars might be helpful to the visually impaired too.
