Trust is the currency of uncertainty. But what about certainty? Certainty stands on its own, needs no faith, and doesn't waver. So why is "In God We Trust" on something as fragile as money? Because money — like the world it props up — is an illusion, unstable and uncertain. The trust we're called to place isn't in God, but in the fleeting symbols of control. God doesn’t need our trust — God simply is.
If God is certain, why are we still chasing security in things that aren't? Maybe, just maybe, we're trusting the wrong things.
