King's Delights, Day 4

I realized I had fallen into a pattern of posting at night, which a) isn't my best writing time, and b) gets fewer views, I think. It makes sense to me to post more in the morning about the delights of the previous day, so I'm switching patterns. Not sure how long I will try to keep this up—that is one of the delights, actually. :)

    1. Not so tightly scheduled.

I've mentioned before that I'm taking a leave of absence from the college. There are still things I have to schedule, like doctor's appointments. But it is part of my recovery to minimize the amount of scheduling I have to do, to be open to the flow of the day and take it as it comes. Part of that: I'm not setting any kind of goal or deadline, etc., regarding how long I do this "Daily Delights" thing. We'll see. And that is, in itself, a delight, like breathing freer.

    2. First podcast episode yesterday.

This seems contradictory to #1, since it involves scheduling. But I'm doing the podcast mostly for fun. I enjoy having conversations with people around its topic. The show it called The Alignment Show. Here's the description:

We’ve all heard of “The Great Resignation,” but it is more accurate to call it “The Great Realignment” as people realized life is short and reoriented their lives to honor what was important to them. That led to a lot of resignations, but it also led to a lot of recommitments and renewals within existing employment.

The Alignment Show” features conversations with folks who have taken steps to identify their highest values and aligned their lives around them.

I take pride in my work and want it to be good, but it also is something I'm doing just because I enjoy it, so I'm not going to let it become "work." But we had a great conversation in the first episode! I'll keep doing it as long as it's fun.

    3. Woke up to cool graphic on TV.

My wife likes to have YouTube music running on the TV at a low volume all night, café jazz, windchimes, bamboo flute, that sort of thing. One of the channels she listens to has a soothing picture to go along with it, varying from day to day. When I woke up yesterday, the first thing I saw was this picture of a really "hygge" bedroom. Great way to start the day!
